Boston Dynamics introduces a fully electric humanoid robot that “exceeds human performance"

Boston Dynamics has retired its old hydraulic Atlas robot and introduced a brand-new fully electric version that is stronger, more flexible, and cleaner to operate. This new Atlas runs on batteries and electric actuators, allowing it to move with a wider range of motion and handle even heavier, more irregular objects than before. Boston Dynamics is now treating Atlas as a real product, not just a research project, and plans to test it first in Hyundai’s factories, giving the robot a practical place to learn and improve. With new AI, machine learning, and advanced control systems, Atlas is designed to adapt to real-world environments and perform tasks that other humanoid robots struggle with. This marks a major step forward for commercial humanoid robots and shows how Boston Dynamics aims to lead in robotics for industry and everyday life.
